Political Stand

Potential for Collapse - February 2011

Black Locust, which is locally prevalent, is a great replacement for rain forest products such as ípe. It is equally durable and has more beautiful grain patterns. After welding the frame for this piece, I decided to change the proportions. I had to break a weld and intentionally left the marks from grinding. I learned from Kent Kleinman, while at SUNY Buffalo, the importance and beauty of an index of the work.
